About Farmer Bob

Bob Lange owns and operates Sugartown Strawberries on the family's Willisbrook Farm in Malvern, PennsylvaniaSugartown Strawberries is located on Willisbrook Farm, approximately 230 acres in Chester County, Pennsylvania. This is a working farm, and has been in the family since 1896. In 1996, Governor Ridge came to visit and help us celebrate becoming a Pennsylvania Century Farm.

The farm has 100 acres of tillable land, 50 acres of pastureland, and 80 acres of woodland. More than 20 horses are boarded on the farm.

"Farmer Bob", as the kids call him, is Robert Lange, who has worked the farm full time since 1987. Never far from Bob is "Happy the Wonder Dog," the farm's mascot and general supervisor. Happy will Here, we see Happy explaining to Bob how to use the new farm equipment at Sugartown Strawberries in Malvern, Pennsylvaniaprovide you with hours of entertainment chasing rocks—don't bother bringing tennis balls...strictly rocks!

Farmer Bob and his family have protected a good portion of the family farm in perpetuity. There are rare Serpentine Barrens, and many beautiful acres of forests and easements. In Happy remains positive and informative, although Bob sometimes rejects the "constructive criticism" he receives from Happy and others at Sugartown Strawberries, Malvern, Pennsylvania.fact, 112 acres of the original farm have been gifted, protected or donated toward the goal of preserving open space in Willistown Township. Bob has been a lifetime member of the Audubon Society since 1971. The farm property includes habitat certified by the National Wildlife Federation.
